Apple Remote Desktop

Description

 

Apple Remote Desktop allows you to manage your Remote connections, credentials and also VPN connections. It will also allow you to manage your remote sessions to devices, windows computers and also computers running OS X.

Option

Description

Host

Enter or select the host to establish the connection.

Port

Enter the port to access the remote computer. Set the port to 0 to use the default port.

Username

Enter the username to connect to the remote computer.

Password

Enter the password to connect to the remote computer.

Option

Description

Screen

Select the screen where you want to display the remote connection. Select between:

Default: If you have more than one screen it will prompt you every time you connect to know which one to use to display the remote connection.

Primary: Will use your primary screen.

Custom: You can choose which screen to display.

Prompt: If you have more than one screen it will prompt you every time you connect to know which one to use to display the remote connection.

Display no.

Select your display screen number.

View only (input ignored)

Connect on the remote computer in view only mode. The keyboard and mouse will not be available, there will be no control of the remote connection.

Screen display

Select the screen display type you want to use. Select between:

ARD: ARD will connect to computer without asking any permission.

ARD ask observe: ARD will ask permission before observing a computer

ARD ask control: ARD will ask permission before controlling a computer

Request type

Select the connection request type between:

Ask other login to share display

Share the display

Connect to a virtual display

Description

Preferred encoding

From less bandwidth use to the most use of bandwidth:

Default

Zib

Zlib 16 gray (black and white)

Zlib halftone (black and white)

Zlib thousands (in color)

Custom compression level

Option available only when choosing the Preferred encoding Zlib.

JPEG compression level
